Our auto insurance provider offers monitoring devices for a discount on insurance. The girls worry that these devices would actually monitor their driving habits. Well, yes, that is the idea. The devices also monitor average gas mileage, interpret ‘Check Engine’ warning lights, measure distance traveled, analyze your investment portfolio and critique the driver’s clothing choices. Sounds like a good deal for an additional discount on the cost of insurance.
Over here, people have found that the machine is of very mixed benefit. You exceed your speed limit by 2 mph a couple of times, and you find your premium has gone up by 30%. They are things to steer clear of in my opinion.
