Swallowtail Butterfly

I think this is a spicebush swallowtail butterfly. Or it might not be. In any case, the butterfly sat on this flower holding his own against a very brisk wind. He flapped his wings vigorously to stay in place while feeding on the flowers. We admired him for his tenacity and honored him with a feature in today’s blog post.
