We went to Holiday World this past weekend. It has an amusement park and a water park. The amusement park is the oldest section and was formerly known as Santa Claus Land. It stands on the east edge of Santa Claus, Indiana. We visited the original park several times when I was a kid. Now our family has been to the new park several times and we have always had enjoyable days there.
One of the newest rides, the Thunderbird, is an all-steel wing coaster; it is one of four such coasters in the US and of eight in the world. The ride reaches up to 140 feet (45 meters) into the air and travels up to 60 mph (95 kph). The track has several inversions. I searched my list of ‘things I really want to do‘ and nowhere did I find ‘strap myself onto a bicycle seat and fly alternately up-side down and right-side up while trees and steel posts zip past me in a blur.‘ Therefore I passed on the ride, but I did get these images of other people who apparently found that entry on their lists!
