Several of this year’s peonies have grown in epic proportions. These pink peonies grew taller than we have seen in recent years. It is a wonder since all we have had is cold and wet weather.

It’s very strange to see such luxuriant growth of flowers if the weather has not been good. Perhaps parasites may have been killed off? Alternatively, a lot of the older traditional garden plants are the products of the old British Empire. They brought back a lot from India, especially from the cold wet valleys of the Himalayas. Maybe that’s a reason?

Could be. The weather wiped out the tulips and our poppy blooms were mostly disappointing. However, the peonies and roses have done well.
