“I’ll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there’s evidence of any thinking going on inside it.”
― Terry Pratchett
We do not have a dogwood tree in our yard, but that has not stopped us from seeing every dogwood tree in town covered with blossoms!
Beautifully taken!

Dogwood trees, especially the pink ones, are hard to grow. I tried several times and they all eventually died. The white ones fare better.

My mother-in-law told me that too. She had both colors at different times. None of those ever lasted too long. We may try one here.

Lovely photos, and I enjoyed the Terry Pratchett quote! So hard to believe he’s gone.

Thank you! The quote fits me well. I want to strangle the next person that says ‘think outside the box!’

Our yard is void also, but we live in Knoxville, TN — home of the Dogwood Arts Festival! Plenty of chances to see these dreamy trees show off in the spring. Love your pictures, by the way!

We had a dogwood which was about 100 years old — a huge, gorgeous tree. The dogwood virus killed it. 😦

What a shame to lose an old tree like that!

I meant “dogwood” not “softwood”. Not much thinking going on inside this rather expensive box!!

Wii, we haven’t got one. I was glad to see on the news that they think they may have found a cure to the disease set to kill off all the ash trees in Europe. If ours does succumb, though, perhaps we’ll get a softwood. I won’t ask why it is so called!

I would be interested in the cure for the ash tree problem. I believe the ‘dogwood’ name is derived from an old English term.

You’re not alone. we don’t have one either. But so many houses in town do.
