The flowering crab apple trees are generally the last tree blossoms to open out in our neighborhood. We have one crab apple tree and the neighbor to the south of us has two. We are seeing some color. However, the last two mornings have had frost so time will tell just how bright this year’s blossoms will look.

May they bloom profusely! The magnolias, out here, all succumbed to frost — pink and white now rusted brown.

Unfortunately, ours did too. But the cherry and the crab apple tree buds are in good shape.

They almost look like little match sticks.

Hopefully the frost will not have damaged those beautifully rich colours.

So far they have made it through. We hope this is the last of the cold weather. Of course, we had hoped the same thing two weeks ago!
