The object is to place the stag beetle onto a familiar object (i.e. the upside-down register) using that perspective to emphasize the true length this beetle. That length is about 1 and 3/4 inches.
The Mackinac Bridge is five miles in length. The bronze sculpture memorializing the workers who built the bridge stands a little larger than life-size. I worked around a bit to get each object into this portrait-oriented image. Had I known this challenge was coming, I would have tried a landscape-oriented shot too!
Arch Rock looks down onto Lake Huron. If you look carefully, you can see a couple of people at the water’s edge. They give a true measure of the camera’s elevation above the roadway. The second capture shows Arch Rock from where those people had been!
Looks like the tulips scraping the windows. The camera was on the ground looking up at the flowers to compose this image. The house is across the street from ours.
In the last three images, we look at a long stretch of the Great Wall of China from a low , an even and a high vantage point. The high vantage point is approximately level with the highest tower across the way in that capture. I tried to encompass the length of the wall as it snakes through the mountains using these three perspectives.

Congrats on being featured! I really like the bridge and worker shot!

I think that these are your best photographs so far illustrating a particular challenge. I love the Arch Rock looking down onto Lake Huron, especially as there are people far below.

Thank you John. It only goes to show that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
