I know I recently used this series of photos, but it fits the theme so well that I could not resist. It is not an original idea on my part, but I enjoyed putting this montage together! The scene is of the path at the park.

Well done on this and for your patience. Photographers need it right! Don’t think I would fancy being the driver in winter is all I can say 😉

Thank you! In fact, that snow was fresh and very powdery and not slippery at all. The park is only about 1 mile away and I was fortunate enough to get there before anyone (including the plow) had touched the path!

Earlybird catches the photograph too 🙂

Hi Dennis and congratulations on the ‘feature’ – really good take on the challenge, I’m trying something similar with a huge chestnut tree – tricky marking the same spot each time though!

Thank you Jane! I am also working on another view with some water – hoping to get some fancy ice formations in winter and maybe some ducklings in the Spring!

Thank you! I had seen it done before on some landscapes. I liked the ‘look into infinity’ feel of the trees and the lines on the track fading into the distance. It turned out better than I had thought it would!

Beautiful post, Dennis. Powerful to have them all shot from the exact spot. Congratulations on being featured in “Photos We Loved” today!

Thank you Jane. The scene worked well in each of the seasons. I was very happy with the outcome. I am working on another series at a new location – hoping to add some more details to make the contrasts even more pronounced.

Did you mark the spot, to get it so exact? This is a perfect set of seasonal changes, and made all the more enjoyable by the very accurate siting of the camera, in the same spot every time.
I was reminded of Auggie, the character played by Harvey Keitel in the film ‘Smoke’. He leaves his shop every day at the same time, and takes one shot of the corner of his street in New York, from the exact same spot, on a tripod.
Best wishes, Pete.

Hi Pete. I stood by a large crack on the side of the asphalt trail – for the winter shot, I had to carefully move some snow to find it so I wouldn’t disturb the snow cover shown in the picture! I am working on another seasonal series now at a new location – I am trying to get some more weather ‘features’ into each shot to make them even more distinctive. It will probably be late next year before I get to publish that one.

Great answer to the prompt, and lucky you had these photos waiting! Fab idea for a series, I might have to try it myself one day 🙂

I am looking around for a spot for my next series now! I want to get some water in this one so we can see some ice in the winter scene!

It is not an original idea with me, but picking the scene gives it a sense of originality. I am looking for my next spot for another series now!

Yes, it’s just amazing how different the same landscape can be, when Mother Nature paints it with her colours.

Bringing all four seasons together at the same time makes it a bit more surreal!

Thank you very much! Do you suppose there is a cash prize? Well, maybe not! I am looking for another scene to use for my next series. I did like how this one turned out. For the next series, I am adding some specifics to each picture to bring out the unique features of each season.
