We do not have any hibiscus in the flowers beds around the house, but we see a lot of them as we walk and ride around the neighborhood. Such a colorful flower, it is hard to miss them anywhere we go. These shots came from the old part of town near the abandoned railroad bed (that is now an asphalt trail across town.)

I planted two yesterday, very similar. Such a simple and beautiful flower.

I’m not sure if we will have any next year or not. Still in the planning stages!

Once again, beautiful flowers, beautifully photographed. Here in England, a lot of the abandoned railway beds in towns have been completely left, and they are the homes to a good selection of wildlife, especially butterflies, who find it very difficult to thrive in a damp,
cold country, awash with farmers’ insecticides.

The abandoned railroad bed in our town has been converted to walking/riding trails. Another abandoned bed north of here has also been developed and is over sixty miles long end-to-end.
