The bumblebees have hit the phlox pretty hard this summer. They crawl around the flower bunches usually spending a lot of time on the underside of the petals. This fellow stayed on the exterior for a while but never would give me a face shot.

It must have been an amazing experience for the first English people to explore a new continent and to find that everything, including bees, was different! Great photos too!

Thank you. I would like to explore other continents for the same reason. Just going down to Texas showed me a vast array of different plants and bugs than what I see at home.
